Advantages of Dental Crowns

  • Match the Rest of Your Smile: Crowns are matched to the color of your natural teeth to ensure a beautiful smile.
  • Restore the Function of Your Teeth: A damaged tooth may be uncomfortable or painful, especially when eating. With a dental crown, your mouth will be pain-free and functional.
  • Are Long-Lasting and Strong: Dental crowns can last 10–15 years. They are also strong enough to resist normal wear and tear.

CEREC Crowns in Homer, AK

During your dental visit, your doctor may recommend using CEREC technology to complete dental work in one visit. For dental crowns, your tooth will be prepared as normal for your dental crown, but instead of a temporary crown being placed, the CEREC technology will allow a permanent crown to be completed and placed on the same visit!

Dr. Adamson offers CEREC crowns and bridges, so you can restore your smile in just one visit.

How CEREC Works

Thanks to advances in dental technology, dental prostheses can be completed in a single visit using CAD/CAM technology known as CEREC. CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. This in-house mill can be used to simplify dental procedures like dental crowns, dental implants, and dental bridges.

We will take a digital impression that we will use to create a custom crown for you.

The digital impression is used by the mill as it carves out your crown from a small block of ceramic material.

Crowns and bridges created with CEREC technology are just as durable as those created in a dental lab and eliminate the need to return for a second visit weeks later. They also match the shade of your other teeth, so your new crown will fit beautifully with the rest of your smile.

Uses of CEREC in Dental Treatments

CEREC is extremely versatile, eases the dentist’s work considerably, and decreases the waiting time for the patient. The main uses include:

  • Restoration: Crowns, inlays, onlays, and veneers are available in just one sitting.
  • Implantology: Tooth implant in one session is probably the most appealing thing about the CEREC. Thanks to the screw-retained crowns, dentists can place the implant in one session and cement the crown onto the implant the same day.

With CEREC, you’ll love your new smile, and you won’t have to worry about multiple appointments. We know you have a busy life, so we provide this state-of-the-art option to streamline the process with the same great results.

  • One-session treatment for tooth restorations and implants
  • Accurate teeth impression which prevents bulky crowns or excessive debris
  • Fewer post-treatment side-effects
  • Aesthetic value due to the ceramic material
  • Stain-resistant ceramic crowns and veneers
  • A more comfortable experience for patients

CEREC has made dental procedures easier, faster, and more comfortable for 30 years. Given all its advantages, it is no wonder that more and more dentists switch to CEREC and leave traditional dental-lab prostheses behind.
